About Loren Scott
Loren is widely recognized throughout Oregon’s debtor-creditor legal community for his work representing individuals, farms, and small businesses in chapter 11 and chapter 12 bankruptcy cases for over 20 years.
Early in his practice, Loren began representing receivers in state court receivership cases, a process of winding down and liquidating a business under state law instead of through a federal bankruptcy court proceeding. Loren found it incredibly satisfying to work with business owners, customers, vendors, secured creditors (banks and private lenders), safety officers, and others to resolve the problems of a failing business.
In 2018, Loren began taking on work as a receiver himself, ultimately establishing 2S Management a few years later.
Loren has worked and traveled throughout Oregon. He loves talking to parties to find a solution to tricky problems, even where there’s animosity or a history of challenges. Loren is easy to work with – even-tempered, practical and smart. He has a real understanding of how small businesses work, not just from working with them for nearly two decades but because he has successfully run his own law firm since 2011. Clients and colleagues appreciate Loren’s honest assessment of a situation, his straight-forward approach to solutions, and his responsiveness throughout the process. He is equally adept at handling tough conversations with upset business partners, angry customers, and frustrated lenders. Loren will do whatever it takes to address a problem and has resources in various parts of the State to assist as needed. He especially enjoys riding his motorcycle to sites to assess a situation and talk in person.
Family Matters
Loren is married to fellow Scott Law Group founding partner, Natalie Scott. Both born and raised in the South, they chose to settle and raise their family in Eugene after moving from Arizona in 2000. Each of their three children has worked for the law firm and assisted with Loren’s work as a receiver, including cleaning out a large barn, taking loads to the dump, and whatever else it takes to get things done. In addition to spending time with his family, Loren’s interests include motorcycles, golf, spending time outdoors, and playing with his dogs.
